What happens if my Mac is asleep or offline?
Visitors see a friendly page saying the file is offline right now, and the link starts working again the moment you’re back online. Links only die when you stop sharing.
Is there a file size limit?
No. Files stream directly from your disk and downloads are resumable, so the link is ready instantly whether it’s a PDF or a 100 GB video project.
Where are my files stored?
Only on your Mac. The server never writes your file contents to disk — it just relays bytes while a download is in flight, and stores the link’s metadata (file name, size, ID).
What happens when I quit the app or delete a share?
The link stops working immediately. There’s no cloud copy left behind to worry about.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no signup and no email — your Mac gets an anonymous device identity, and that’s it.
